Customer Testimonials

Stephanie,

It was a wonderful trip. Loved Ireland. The marvelous countryside, green as in the legend, full of sheep, cows, hedge rows, hills and old castles. Loved the pubs and the music and all the friendly people. And of course the marvelous coast.

The accommodation in Killarney & Clare were absolutely charming. The accommodation in Clare was probably the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. The furnishings, gardens and setting are truly extraordinary and the food was first-rate.

The Hotel in Galway was delightful, and as Ronan said, the "buzz" in Galway was terrific.

I would add that for me the single most thrilling experience on the trip was visiting Thor Ballylee and Coole Park and reading Yeats while there.

Could have used another week. Good reason to come back. Next time I'd like to see Dublin and that part of the country.

Thank you

A small fishing village, also known as Fisherstreet, on a sandy bay some 3km from Aill na Searrach, the northern end of the Cliffs of Moher. Doolin is world-famous for its wealth of Irish folk music and in recent years has been attracting crowds to spontaneous sessions and festivals or 'fleadhanna' of Irish and international music. Lots of music pubs and restaurants.

Overlooked by Doonagore Castle, an unusual circular tower within a walled bawn enclosure, which has been restored as a residence. Nearer the sea, Iron Age burial mounds dot the surrounding landscape.

One of Doolin's claims to fame is that it is the main setting for the PlayStation 3 game Folklore. According to the game's storyline, the Netherworld, the world of the dead is a realm that can only be accessed from one place in the world, the sea-side village of Doolin.

Doolin is one of three places (Galway and the village of Rossaveal on the northwest shore of Galway Bay are the others) with ferry services to the Aran Islands, which are visible from the town.

The Aille River runs from the hills of the Burren down past Doolin to meet the sea. The small Crab Island is a short distance out from Doolin Harbor, barren except for the remains of a 19th Century stone constabulary outpost.
