Customer Testimonials

Stephanie - we had a FABULOUS time. I guess we brought our sunny Colorado weather to Ireland, because during our stay we had exceptional weather. Our favorite place was the Castle. We were so pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was situated on an island, and we were offered a private car ferry ride. Our room was a three-room suite, decorated in Victorian style with all the old world charm and splendor. The staff there were just ultra efficient! We kept calling it our 'fantasy island'.

Our next favorite was the Country House in Killarney. The owners were so warm, friendly, inviting, gracious and really made us feel at home. The view was stunning and the manor was very quiet and peaceful.

I guess our least favorite was Dublin, but again, it was raining the day we arrived. We had trouble finding the car rental return at the Dublin Airport, and we drove around in circles for 30 minutes before finally calling the rental agency. Someone there said they had just changed the entrance to it, so we didn't feel so bad after learning that.

Speaking of car rental, I am SO glad you reserved a GPS unit for us. We would have been completely lost without it. Although you provided the great ordinance map with the large roads, all the smaller roads would have been a navigational nightmare. And just as luck would have it, they gave me a five-speed manual shift car. What a challenge! We finally just started laughing about my driving errors and had fun. I did take out the full insurance on the car because I didn't want to be responsible for any damage.

Most of our pictures are of the countryside and there are very few of us. If you want background pictures, then I'll be glad to share a few. Oh, the dinner/show at Abbey Tavern was outstanding.

Thanks for helping us build such fond memories and sharing your charming country with us. Best, Val

The Ewe Sculpture Garden & Gallery is must see for anyone intrested in art, nature or just a totally unique experience. The perfect destination for a memorable day out. Set along a spectacualr waterfall it is a journey like no other. Slowly explore the mandering pathways and hidden corners. Take the Evolution Walk through the Valley of Eden, weave your past humourous sculptures, and discover a surprise at every turn.

The Ewe is a unique combination of nature and art and Ireland's only interactive sculpture garden. Such creative havens can be found in only a few places in Europe. For ten years Sheena Wood and her writer husband, Kurt, ran the successful Ewe Art Centre on the Mizen peninsula. After two years of building work the Glengarriff sculpture garden reopened in 2006 as a continuation of that work. The indoor and outdoor art works are by Sheena, a prolific artist with an impressive range of work from paintings to textiles, mixed media, mosaics, ceramics and sculpture. The sound of trickling water accompanies you, as you cross the bridge into the garden. The waterfall cascades down beside Falling Water Lodge, a timber clad house, designed and built by the artist.
