Day 1: Depart U.S. for
Dublin
Welcome aboard your overnight flight to Dublin.
Day 2: Dublin Arrival
& Book of Kells
Arrive in Dublin and transfer to your hotel. At 2:00 pm tour
central Dublin and view the Book of Kells in Trinity College.
Visit the Old Jameson Distillery to learn about Irish whiskey
and sample some. Join your fellow travelers for a welcome
drink and dine independently.
Day 3: Clonmacnoise &
Galway
Visit the monastic site of Clonmacnoise to see highly decorated
crosses, round towers and church ruins. Drive to Galway and
see the main sights before checking into your hotel, located
on Eyre Square. Enjoy some free time before dinner. (B, D)
Day 4: Connemara &
Kylemore Abbey
Tour Connemara for sweeping views of misty mountains and shimmering
lakes. Stop in
Spiddal and in Clifden before visiting Kylemore Abbey, a 19th
century mansion with an exquisite
chapel and reception rooms. Return to your hotel in Galway
and take a stroll around the city
center. Many of the streets are pedestrianized and full of
small pubs and shops. (B, D)
Day 5: Cliffs of Moher
& Killarney
Drive south to see the Cliffs of Moher, which rise almost
700 feet above the pounding Atlantic
surf. Cross the River Shannon Estuary by ferry to Killarney.
Take a horse-drawn jaunting car ride to
Muckross House & Gardens. Take a guided tour around the
19th century mansion and walk
through the lovely gardens on your own. (B, D)
Day 6: Ring of Kerry & Killeen
House
Embark on Ireland’s most popular scenic drive –
the Ring of Kerry – for views of mountains, open
Atlantic Ocean, beaches and cliffs. Enjoy plenty of breaks
to admire the natural beauty all along
the way. Stop at Moll’s Gap for views and dine at award-winning
Killeen House. (B, D)
Day 7: Blarney & Cobh Heritage
Centre
Drive to Blarney Castle to kiss the famous “Stone of
Eloquence” and visit the Blarney Woollen Mills. Visit
the Cobh Heritage Centre to learn about the history of emigration.
Follow the coast to
Waterford for dinner and overnight stay. After dinner enjoy
a talk by a local historian. (B, D)
Day 8: Waterford Crystal & Traditional
Show
Visit the Waterford Crystal Factory to see the cutting and
polishing of this fine product and also the excellent display
of trophies and stemware in the showrooms. Head north to Kilkenny
with its intriguing medieval streets and buildings and stroll
through narrow streets or view the massive castle from its
rose gardens. Drive to Dublin and check into the same hotel.
Take some time to admire the views or even stroll along the
pier, a favorite haunt of Dubliners. In the evening drive
to either the Merry Ploughboy Pub or the Abbey Tavern. Both
venues offer great food and a lively traditional Irish show.

Day 9: Depart for Home or Extra Day
in Dublin
For those of you booked on our 9-day, transfer to Dublin Airport.
If you have booked our 10-day tour,
spend an additional night in Dublin with an independent Dublin
sightseeing tour pass (valid for 24 hours) and a taxi transfer
to Dublin Airport. (B) |
