Hi Tara, I wanted you to know we had a wonderful time and you have a beautiful country. We saw many of the sites you suggested and loved just traveling around from town to town. Regarding the details: Kilkenney and Galway were great, wonderful accommodations, nice fitness centers, and a splendid breakfast. . We loved Killarney and noticed how many lovely hotels were near the state park. Thanks again for all your help,Sue, Long Island NJ

Lough Inagh Lodge, just 42 miles from Galway, is set on the shores of Lough Inagh, one of Connemara's most beautiful lakes. Amidst the most spectacular scenery in Ireland visitors can fish, shoot, play golf, hill-walk, pony-trek, or just relax. Lough Inagh Lodge is the perfect haven for total relaxation offering you all the comforts and pleasures of an elegant, modern hotel in an old-world atmosphere. Seafood and wild game dishes are specialties of the house and are complemented by an excellent wine list. Open log fires in the library and the oak-paneled bar symbolise the warmth of Inagh hospitality.
The ideal base for your tour of Connemara, Lough Inagh Lodge is surrounded by famous "beauty spots", including the Twelve Bens mountain range and the Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey is also nearby. By the way, if you fish or shoot you'll find the old Lough Inagh Lodge record books fascinating reading! You can read and relax too in the sitting room where you can enjoy morning coffee and afternoon tea. And when your long day is over, you'll retire to your comfortable, spacious bedroom which has spectacular views over Lough Inagh and The Twelve Bens mountains. Each bedroom is en-suite and includes a separate dressing room.
In common with most of Connemara, the area surrounding Lough Inagh was owned by the Martins of Ballynahinch Castle from the mid-seventeenth century to the Great Famine of 1845-8. Later it was purchased by Richard Berridge, a London brewer, who built the hotel as a fishing lodge in the 1880s. Down the years, Lough Inagh Lodge was to pass to the Tennant family, and then to Carroll Industries. The present owners took possession of Inagh in 1989.
