Ballynahinch Castle is set in the heart of Connemara and stands
proud and majestic overlooking the famous Ballynahinch River. The
Castle has been intertwined in the history of Connemara and its
people for many centuries, from the days of the O'Flaherty chieftains
and Grace O'Malley to Humanity Dick Martin and H.R.H. the Maharaja
Ranjitsinji. Open log fires glow in our reception rooms and all
your needs will be attended to. Soft restful colour schemes harmonize
with the natural charm of the surroundings in our tastefully decorated
bedrooms. Ballynahinch Castle 's
close association with the history of the area is reflected in each
of its individually appointed bedrooms. Rest comes easily when surrounded
by the casual country elegance that is Ballynahinch Castle. |

| Local fresh produce is used to create culinary delights in
the dining room with its panoramic view of Ballynahinch River.
Ballynahinch Castle is surrounded by 350 acres of woodlands, rivers
and lakes, which offer miles of scenic walks. Ballynahinch Fishery
is world-renowned as one of the finest salmon and sea-trout rivers
in Ireland. Fishing is reserved for Hotel guests, and what better
way to spend the day than casting a fly to tempt an eager salmon.
Ballynahinch Castle holds sway over 13,000 acres of prime woodcock
shooting. This driven shoot is highly-prized among discerning
sportsmen, and the sparkling log fire in the pub is a welcome
sight to the returning shooters after their day's sport. Tennis,
pony trekking and hill climbing are all close at hand and the
Connemara Golf Club, 17 miles from the Castle, offers a fitting
challenge to any golfer. The beauty and majesty of Connemara can
be enjoyed to the fullest while staying at Ballynahinch Castle,
which has an aura of its own that few forget and most return for. |
| Warm colours throughout the Castle enrich the stately rooms, which
are complimented by panoramic views of the river and the beauty
of the Ballynahinch Estate. All of the forty bedrooms have private
