REVIEW
Originally the home of the O' Callaghan family, the house was demolished
during the Cromwellian era and the current house was built in 1720.
It is a listed Heritage Georgian Manor and boasts a splendid Victorian
Conservatory constructed in 1886 by Richard Turner, the greatest
ironmaster in the Victorian era. After a period of some 300 years,
Longueville is once again in the O' Callaghan family.
Over the years, Longueville House has gained
an excellent international reputation as a hotel and restaurant.
Luxury, tranquility and a warm reception are assured in this family
run hotel. Each of the 22 guestrooms is individually decorated
in good taste and superb comfort. Guests are free to stroll the
woodlands on the estate and visit the gardens, which supply much
of the produce for the hotel's kitchen.
When not playing golf, fishing, cycling, hill
walking and mountain climbing will keep you occupied. Guests can
fish for salmon and trout on the nearby River Blackwater, while
Cork Race Track is little over two miles from the hotel. The surrounding
countryside is one of the most scenic in Ireland and guests can
enjoy the experience at their leisure.
