REVIEW
Regarded as Ireland's gourmet capital, with a wide range of excellent
restaurants, Kinsale is a small, pretty town lying between hills
and valleys, with a safely sheltered beautiful harbour. Located
in the heart of the town close to many superb pubs and restaurants,
the Trident Hotel offers a full range of modern amenities and is
in a prime position for guests to savour the superb scenery.
All 56 bedrooms in this modern hotel have been
tastefully appointed and offer superb views of the picturesque
harbour. The hotel's award-winning Savannah Waterfront Restaurant
is a member of the Kinsale Good Food Circle and serves magnificent
cuisine in an intimate setting. Guests can also enjoy the traditional
charm of the Wharf Tavern in the hotel, where live entertainment
is a regular feature. And following the rigours of the day, guests
can unwind in the hotel's impressive, fully equipped leisure centre.
Quite aside from the modern attractions of
the town, Kinsale is also of great historical significance and
was the site of a battle in 1601 that was a turning point in Irish
history. Kinsale's International Museum of Wine, located in the
15th century Desmond Castle, tells the romantic story of the Irish
emigrants who colonised the wine trade throughout the world after
being forced to leave their own shores. For the energetic, horse
riding, clay pigeon shooting, tennis, quad biking and numerous
water sports are available locally and can be arranged from the
hotel.
