Guided Walking
Tours of Ireland - The Dingle Peninsula - Tour Ref : DP
Highlights
of your Walking Tour In Ireland:
-
The Dingle Peninsula boasts the highest
concentration of archeological sites in
Ireland.
-
The rugged beauty of the area was immortalised
in the movie 'Ryan's Daughter'.
-
Fishing village of Dingle with its 50
pubs, craft shops, restaurants and Fungi
the Dolphin.
-
Thriving Gaelic culture and language.
- The most westerly point of Europe.
This
walking tour is devised as a perfect introduction
to the spectacular scenery of the ancient barony
of Corca Dhuibhne (Corkaguiney). Gaelic culture
is alive and the Gaelic language is still spoken
in the homes at the western end of the peninsula.
The walks are spread throughout its length, allowing
you to sample the hills that make up its spines,
as well as some of the many beaches. Routes, with
a variety of ground underfoot, can be from 10 to
20 km (6 to 13 miles) each day. This week long 2
centre tour is based in Tralee, the county town,
and at an inn in the peaceful seaside village of
Cloghane. The option day allows for a tour of the
wonderful fishing harbour town of Dingle.
