Doonbeg Golf Club is one of the world's most picturesque golf links. Doonbeg plays along 1.5 miles of beach and dunes and the ocean is visible from the green, fairway, or tee of 16 of the 18 holes.

Doonbeg opened for play in July 2002 and has lived up to its expectations. The course is certainly modern in nature, with highly contoured greens but relatively inviting fairways. Yet it also retains some features usually associated with a traditional links, such as blind tee shots and a crossing fairway. Expect soaring, grassy dunes rising almost 100 feet above the crashing shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean, and seemingly bottomless bunkers. The beautiful setting combined with the design skills of Greg Norman result in a golfing masterpiece.

"It's Ireland. It's Irish golf. It's links golf. Sand dunes like you'll never see again, working hand in glove with the environmentalists. I tell everybody about this course. I tell them that I have got the best site in the world and it's at Doonbeg in Ireland." Greg Norman
