Dunvegan Castle

Dunvegan Castle and Garden are located on the Isle of Skye and a visit to the area is not complete without learning about the history of the award winning 5* Dunvegan Castle and Gardens.

The first chief to open Dunvegan to the public was Sir Reginald MacLeod, the 27th Chief in 1933 for the purpose of charity for two days a week. Over the decades, the visitor numbers has risen to present day where hundreds of thousands visit in a yearly basis. Dunvegan is part of Scotland’s heritage and everyone who visits will be treated to tours of the award winning castle and Highland Estate which is full of history, clan legends has a magnificent formal garden. There is the chance to see the Loch Dunvegan seal colony, fish on Loch cruise or stay in the quint Victorian holiday cottages and enjoy local food at the MacLeod Café or treat yourself to some Scottish products. The castle has hosted visitors including Queen Elizabeth II, Sir Walter Scott and promises not to disappoint you on your visit.
