Shannon Airport is the ideal international airport to fly into as it is only 2 hours drive to the heart of the South West, whereas Dublin Airport is a 5 hour drive. For those arriving from the U.K. or Europe Kerry Airport is only 15 minutes drive and Cork Airport is a 1.25 hour journey. Collect your rental car or meet with your driver. Transfer to your hotel in Killarney. Today is a free day to settle in and get over the jet lag. Alternatively we could arrange for an additional round today at Dooks Golf Club or at Killarney Golf Club, Mahony's Point Course.
Travel half way round the spectacular Ring of Kerry to Waterville Golf Club. In 1999 at a ceremony during the now famous Ryder Cup in Brookline Massachusetts, Payne Stewart accepted the Captaincy of Waterville – the last golf honour he would receive before his tragic death. Today a life sized bronze statue pays tribute to his Captaincy and his special relationship with Waterville.
Overnight in Killarney
Designed and built by Arnold Palmer, this stunning setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest links courses in the world. Depart Killarney this morning and head north to take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon into County Clare and on to Lahinch. Lahinch Golf Club is frequently referred to as “the St. Andrew’s of Ireland” because of its close proximity and interaction with the local village. The links is situated on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
Overnight in Lahinch or in the town of Ennis. For those taking the deluxe option spend the night at the magnificent Dromoland Castle.
Doonbeg Golf Club plays along 1.5 miles of beach and dunes with the ocean visible from the green, fairway, or tee on 16 of the 18 holes. Greg Norman, who designed the course said, "This is a course I want to be identified with, one I will be able to say with pride, 'I did that one.'
