During this Family Vacation around Ireland you will spend your time exploring this magical land using Dingle in County Kerry as your base location. The Dingle Peninsula offers some of Ireland’s most stunning scenery from the Brandon Mountains to the spectacular seascapes of Dingle Bay. A drive around the Dingle Peninsula will leave you and your family with memories of Iron Age forts, early Christian monasteries and remarkable intact traditional Irish culture. Gaelic is still spoken in many parts of the peninsula and can still be heard by passers-by on the quaint and colourful streets.
Other highlights for this Ireland family Vacation include visiting some of Ireland top tourist attractions from the stunning Ring of Kerry, the rugged Cliffs of Moher, the unique Burren, journey deep underground at Ailwee Caves and Kiss the blarney stone at Blarney Castle.
While on your family vacation of Ireland, we understand that it is sometimes difficult for families to move from hotel to hotel so our Ireland with Kids tours are ‘one-centred’ and planned in such a way as you would just collect your rental car, drive to your hotel base and check in for the duration of your vacation. When you confirm your tour with us you will receive a comprehensive tour pack which will include numerous day tours that you can chose to take from your base location. You may decide to take all of the day tours, some of them or you may simply choose to enjoy the great family facilities of your hotel and its surroundings.
All of the hotels we have chosen for our Family packages have great family facilities, many of them have kids clubs during the summer holidays, playground or playroom, special meals, movie nights, babysitting and great escapes for mom and dad including leisure centres and spas, bars, restaurants and live music.
Tour begins 2:00 PM at the Clontarf Castle Hotel lobby, a short ride from Dublin Airport and a few miles to the north of Dublin city center. Head out for a tour of central Dublin with a local guide to see elegant Georgian squares, public buildings, and monuments. Visit Glasnevin Cemetery Museum, Ireland’s national cemetery, a fascinating who’s who of modern Irish history. Join your group for a welcome drink followed by dinner in the castle hotel. (D)
Visit Florence Court House, home of the Irish Yew. The original tree, discovered in 1760, can still be viewed on the grounds. Tour the magnificent 18th century mansion, renowned for its elaborate rococo plasterwork. Next, a CIE Tours exclusive: visit Blakes of the Hollow Pub, a Victorian bar that retains many features original to its founding in 1887. Discover the secrets that have made Belleek Pottery one of the most enduring success stories of Irish craftsmanship during a tour of Belleek Pottery. You’ll go behind the scenes to see how this world-famous fine china is made. Travel south to Galway and take a relaxed cruise on Lough Corrib, the largest lake in Ireland (April 1 – October 21 departures). Enjoy dinner at your hotel. (B, D)
Explore scenic Connemara to admire how constantly changing cloud formations give granite hills, sparkling lakes, and peat bogs an added dimension. Stop at the Connemara Celtic Crystal Factory where craftsmen demonstrate fine glass cutting. Travel through the picturesque scenery of hills and lakes to visit Dan O’Hara’s Homestead. Head out to the Ring of Kerry, Ireland’s most famous and popular scenic drive. Immerse yourself in farm life with a demonstration of sheepdogs herding flocks.
