Northern Ireland's signature course, Royal County Down is a fine example of links golf situated in the shadows of the stunning Mourne Mountains. Royal County Down is very exclusive; the clubhouse is accessible only to members and their guests - jacket and tie required. The course is widely regarded as one of the world's finest golf links courses, challenging and beautifully set in equal measures. The hazards include blind tee shots, obscured second shots and excellent bunkering. The course was laid out in 1889 by the legendary Tom Morris for the paltry sum of just four guineas!
